Firefighting operations continued until the afternoon, but according to the police, there was no danger to the public at any time. "We are working closely with the authorities to assess the damage and repair it safely and quickly ," says Kai Hoyer, Managing Director of Source One Plastics. "To our great relief, there were no injuries or environmental damage." The fire destroyed parts of the modern recycling plant inside and the roof of the recycling hall. The office building remained undamaged and the hall's structural integrity remained intact. The exact extent of the damage is still unclear. "As the hall has not yet been cleared by the police, we are not yet able to carry out a comprehensive damage assessment," says Kai Hoyer. “According to initial estimates, it is already apparent from the outside that everything can be repaired.” The coming days will show how high the property damage is and when repairs can begin.
